GNOME Linux desktop environment its own virtual desktop called workspaces. By default it is configured into two virtual desktops, but may increase up to 36 virtual desktops. Windows can be easily moved from one position to another with drag and drop or keyboard shortcuts. Gnome Workspaces is compared to other virtual desktop managers, very spartan, but many users favor it specifically for its Spartan user interface and swift.
